Children's Surgery Society is a student society at the University of Nottingham. This page explains what personal details we collect when you book a session, what we do with them, and what this website stores on your device.

When you book a session

We ask for your full name, email address, year, course, University of Nottingham student number, and which sessions you'd like to come to.

Why we need it

We don't use your details for anything else, we don't sell them, and we don't add you to any mailing list without asking.

Where your details are kept

Bookings are stored in a Google Sheet in the society's own Google account, and confirmation emails are sent from that account. Only members of the society committee can see the bookings. Google stores this data on our behalf under its own privacy policy.

How long we keep them

We delete all booking details at the end of each academic year.

Cookies and this website

This site sets no cookies at all, and runs no analytics or advertising. It stores one item in your browser's local storage:

NameWhat it doesHow long it lasts
css-cookie-notice-seen Remembers that you dismissed the notice at the bottom of the page, so it doesn't reappear on every visit. Until you clear your browser data for this site.

It contains no personal information and is never sent to us. Our typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. Like any website, our web server keeps standard access logs (the page requested, the time and your IP address) to keep the site running securely. They aren't used to identify anyone.

Some pages link to Instagram, Google Forms, the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Once you follow one of those links you're on someone else's site, and their own policies apply.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to see the details we hold about you, to correct them, or to delete them. If you can no longer come to a session you've booked, just reply to your confirmation email and we'll remove you.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
